Tracking Daily Reading

Maximize your ability to track what students read. This tutorial will show you how to create an electronic book record which your students will use to set reading goals and record books read, as well as track other important pieces of daily reading.

Overview
This tutorial will show you how to create a student book log using Excel. You will learn how to work with fonts, word art, clipart, change colors, create tables and charts, add formulas, and create graphs.

Booklogs can be a helpful tool for the teacher. A student using a booklog can accomplish the Reading Benchmark #4:

The student sets goals and evaluates progress to improve reading

  • assessing strengths and need for improvement
  • seeking and offering feedback to improve reading
  • developing interests and sharing reading experiences
