First Steps

Decide what you want to include in your eFolios

Here is what I include in my list:

BookLog:  A record created in Excel. This tracks personal read books (SSR) learners have completed. The BookLog I use has students determine a goal for book completion each month as well as total books read.

Math Facts: This is another Excel record keeping tool this time to track number correct on their math fact drills. When learners enter their score, the sheet actually creates a graph of their progress.

Reading Response Journal: In WORD learners write a week response to a book they are reading. The teacher can pull up their response and respond back.

Story Showcase:  This tool in WORD allows students to link to stories they have written. It has a place for them to reflect on their strengths as a writer and their next steps.

Technology Projects:  Learners using this WORD tool link to their various technology projects.  They include what they have learned how to do with technology and what they would like to learn how to do next.

Goals:  The final part of the eFolio is a weekly goal tracker. The learners in my class record a measurable goal in a determined area either by them or my me. When a goal is reached they will record on the sheet that is was accomplished.

Think About

What do you value in your learning environment?

Do you want your learners to reflect on their learning as a daily process?

Or do you want your learners selecting evidence to show learning?
