ePals is a wonderful way for students to learn together online.  After you get the sending email back and forth down look for other ways for students to be involved in learning.

Look at your curriculum and find some common areas with your ePal class. Try to put together a project where each partner has to contribute to the learning.  Communication clearly becomes the key to completing these types of projects.

Look for projects to do that fit within your standards and curriculum, which encourage email interaction, that provide opportunities for students to work togehter to collect adn analyze information. Create projects which have students working together to make inferneces, draw conclusions and verify information.

Above all provide them with the challenge to commuicate their thoughts adn ideas in writing in a clear and effective manner.
