Scheduling Computer Use

Types of Schedules

I use a variety of schedules for getting students on to computer.  These are determined by the number of students, the amount of time I have in the day, and the scope of the project.

Subject Rotation

Takes place during the schedule subject block all activities the classroom center around the content area.
Usually used with partners at computers.
Usually teams are on computer every other day as this allows for more work at the computer with shortened times.

Block Schedule
I use this one a lot. This is where the students have 2 or 3 different things they are working on for the morning time. Length of times for each block can vary as well as the activities in the block. Literacy Block fits this really well. When used in literacy block student assignments are set up according to which reading group they are in.
