Making Story Webs

This section will show you how to create webs for plannning stories or collecting infomation.
When creating webs the WORD Draw Tool Bar becomes the web tool of choice.

Create a Story Web

 Find the Draw Bar
 

  1. Click View
  2. Click Toolbar
  3. Click Draw
  4. The Draw bar should appear.

Draw Shapes

  1. Click AutoShapes
  2. Select a Shape
  3. Click and Drag shape onto document
  4. Adjust size by clicking and holding on to handles
  5. To add text box click on text box on tool bar
  6. Use the arrow line to draw arrows if needed

Using Table Tool
You can also use the table tool to create a table to help plan a story. Just figure out how many columns and rows you will need.

 

Web Examples

Middle School WEB (.doc):
Students enter their feelings about going to middle school and then write about it.

Sailor Web (.doc):
Students gatherin information during a WebByte and use the facts to answer questions about life of a sailor. The use this infomation to write journal entries.

Frog and Toad (doc.)
Learners list the differences between a frog and toad.

My Story Web (.doc)
Used to create a story plan. 

DTAP Plan (.doc)
Takes learners through planning date, topic, audience, and purpose for their writing.
